first day of september...and i went to dean's open forum...

it's mainly about the web's role in reporting the recent Katrina hurricane attacked louisana...seemed internet this time fully surpassed the traditional medias such a radio and tv...

but the 50 Billion loss and thousand's of lives! american government should keep sth in their mind, as their european ally is naming the Katrina as "Global Warming", while the desperate people in the disaster-stricken area still need help. the government put billions of dollars to build up the homeland security concept in people's minds after 911...but why facing the nature's rage, the government's force and protection which people are looking for seem so weak and futile?

seems i am pretty lazy in doing this...well, it's nearly a month, without any updates...but today i can use wireless network at my apartment...so i can feel modern society is one step nearer to me...

after nearly a week's struggle, i finally settled down in l.a., well, it's nice place, though might be disappointing at the first glance...but actually, it's not as crowded as in n.y., while still cool during night and acceptable warm during noon.

people are nice to me, including the landlord. my classmates! 90% of them are americans, only 4 from china, 4 from taiwan, 1 from peru, 1 from greece. the other more than 100 are pure americans...hard to imagine. and we were required to give self-introduction on this very first day of orientation, attended by larry, the dean (former ceo of voa). but apparently, my english is not bad among chinese students, while compared with native speakers, i need quite a lot of improvement.

yes, a new stage begins.  just like the USC Slogan: Trojans, let's FIGHT ON.!!!

to my dearest panida, to jew, to kratai, to my parents and friend in China.
